Coral Way and Granada Blvd Intersection Improvements
The Coral Way and Granada Boulevard Intersection Improvements project is a focused safety and state-of-good-repair upgrade that modernizes a key crossing for drivers and pedestrians. The work includes milling and resurfacing to restore pavement condition, updated ADA-compliant curb ramps and sidewalks to improve accessibility, and targeted drainage improvements to address roadway runoff and standing water issues. The project also refreshes corridor fundamentals like signage, pavement markings, and tree planting, improving both clarity and streetscape quality.
A major portion of the scope centers on traffic operations and pedestrian visibility. The intersection receives traffic signal updates, including pedestrian detectors and pedestrian signal equipment, along with vehicle detection upgrades to improve responsiveness and reduce unnecessary delay. Pull boxes are replaced where needed to support reliable electrical and communications infrastructure, and the final striping and marking plan ties everything together so the intersection is easier to understand and safer to navigate for all users, including people crossing on foot.
The project is being delivered under a structured construction schedule, with clear milestones for substantial completion followed by a final closeout period to address punch list items and confirm everything is functioning as intended. Once field inspections verify the work is complete, the City will issue completion documentation and finalize acceptance. As part of closeout, the contractor will also support warranty and post-construction follow-up to ensure the new pavement, accessibility upgrades, drainage elements, and signal components perform as designed.
