Ponce de Leon Boulevard Roadway Improvements

The Ponce de Leon Phase 3 Median Improvements project focuses on upgrading the Ponce de Leon Boulevard corridor from Menores Avenue to south of SW 8th Street with a mix of roadway, streetscape, and median enhancements. The work is designed to improve the corridor’s appearance and functionality, while also refreshing key infrastructure elements that support daily travel through the area.

At the street level, the scope includes removal and replacement of sidewalks, along with curb and gutter improvements to restore edges, strengthen drainage control, and improve pedestrian paths. The project also includes miscellaneous stormwater improvements and water main-related improvements, addressing supporting utilities and drainage components that typically need attention when corridor edges and pavement are being reconstructed.

On the roadway and median side, the project includes milling and resurfacing of bituminous pavement, paired with landscaping and the installation of traffic calming features within the corridor improvement limits. Together, these improvements modernize the corridor’s appearance, enhance comfort and safety, and reinforce a more organized, walkable streetscape while maintaining the corridor’s role as an important urban route.
